May Update

Thank you for all your messages of support. All our staff are in good
health and like the rest of us are looking forward to when we can
reopen. At present we do not know when this will be as we are waiting
for Government instructions as to what will be allowed and when. Rest
assured we are as keen to resume golf as anyone but we must adhere to
the current regulations.

Whilst the course is closed our greenstaff are doing the basic
maintenance work that is permitted under the regulations. We have a new
Course Manager (Carl Sharp) who was the Deputy Greenkeeper at Milford GC
and has previously worked at Queenwood GC. We recently took delivery of
a new John Deere tractor and Terra Spike (ordered before the lock-down).
With no golf being played the course is recovering from the intense play
it had over the very wet winter period.

Once we are given an opening date we will resume things like cutting the
greens every day and are confident that we we will quickly get it back
into a very good condition. We believe that Carl’s enthusiasm and
experience will help the team deliver great results.

When we do reopen it will not be business as usual for some time and we
will all have to stick to very strict social distancing rules which will
include things like only one customer in the reception cabin at a time.
Tee times will be slightly more spaced out and there will not be things
like rakes in the bunkers. All new rules will be aimed at keeping both
customers and staff safe at all times.

Kind regards

Geoffrey
